Plot
Misaeng screenwriter Jung Yoon Jung returns with her second comic-based drama The Bride of Habaek, a spin-off of Yoon Mi Kyung's popular comic. The historical fantasy romance is transplanted to modern Korea in tvN's fantasy romcom directed by Kim Byung Soo (The Three Musketeers). Nam Joo Hyuk (Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo) takes the lead role of the God of Water, who is caught in a love square with a psychiatrist portrayed by Shin Se Kyung (Six Flying Dragons), the Goddess of Water portrayed by f(x) member Krystal (Prison Playbook), and the God of Winds portrayed by Gong Myung (Drinking Solo). Im Ju Hwan (Oh My Ghost), Lee Kyung Young (D-Day), Kim Tae Hwan (My Amazing Boyfriend), Jung Dong Hwan (Mask) and Song Won Geun (Apgujeong Midnight Sun) also co-star in the drama.
Every 3,000 years, red water appears in the Water Nation to foretell a new king. To secure the throne, the God of Water Ha Baek (Nam Joo Hyuk) sets off to the human world in search of the magical stones to make the imperial seal. Heavily indebted psychiatrist Yoon So Ah (Shin Se Kyung) plans to sell her ring to clear her debt but encounters Ha Baek, who believes that she is his servant. The narcissistic water god tries to subdue So Ah with his charm so she will help him find the magical stones, which are now kept by the Goddess of Water Moo Ra (Krystal).
